Earth hour in pictures

More than 1,000 cities in over 80 countries observed Earth Hour 2009 on Saturday March 28th, as homes, office towers and landmarks turned off their lights for an hour starting at 8.30 pm local time to raise awareness about climate change and the threat from rising greenhouse gas emissions.

The pictures are nice… I must say (shame on me!) that I did not contribute… I did not know about it until too late.. :-(

Moving content between devices

This is a new way to move content between different devices – if you want to read stuff on your Kindle, it might be difficult to do so. This online service will help you…

Link

This is a nice, new online service, that will give you the possibility to ‘republish’ content on other devices you might own. It works with a sort of bookmarking service, that will ‘port’ content from a browser to a Kindle, which might be easier to read (long) content on.

New batteries promised

Some new nanotech promisses new batteries…

If cellphone batteries can be made using the material, they could charge in 10 seconds flat, the researchers calculate (Nature, DOI: 10.1038/nature07853). Bigger batteries for plug-in hybrid electric cars could charge in just 5 minutes – compared with about 8 hours for existing batteries – though this would require a very high-powered charger.

What I would like is for the estimated time to market to be published in articles like this… :-(
